Backcountry soak reached by a long Sespe Wilderness hike, with many creek crossings and a small tub. Plan to camp and filter water. Spring is easiest.

Steep 5-minute walk from Hwy 178 to hand-built stone tubs beside the Kern River, with mixed temps and little shade. Expect crowds on weekends. Go early.

Short GR10-side hike to free sulfur springs above Mérens-les-Vals, with small rock pools often around 37-40°C. No toilets or bins, go early.

Thermoludic complex in Ax-les-Thermes, indoor and outdoor pools kept about 33-38°C plus Roman-style rooms. Swimsuit rules apply, kids from 5.

Outdoor granite baths below Dorres village, pools usually 38-39°C fed by a 40°C sulfur spring. Rustic site, bring towel, sandals, and patience.

Drive-up pools at Saint-Thomas-les-Bains near Font-Romeu (34-38°C), plus indoor sauna and vaporarium. Swimsuit, reservations smart in peak weeks, winter.

A fly-in Nahanni National Park Reserve stop at Rabbitkettle Lake, with staff-guided access only to fragile tufa mounds, not casual soaking. Permits required.

A long backroad plus 3 to 4 hour hike into Purcell Wilderness Conservancy. Hot vents are scalding, and BC Parks discourages pool building. No services.

A steep Kananaskis hike to two tiny soak pools below Mist Mountain. Trailhead is unmarked on Hwy 40, closed seasonally, no facilities. No toilets.
