The waters of Truth or Consequences are drawn from the largest thermal mineral water aquifer in the southwestern United States, producing 2.5 million gallons of hot water per day. The Chiricahua Apache called these springs the "place to pray" and considered them neutral ground for healing. The Hoosier water is rich in minerals yet devoid of sulfur, making it odorless and clear. Guests watch the water flow directly into their pool at the first moment it rises above ground. Once it leaves the soaking pool, it flows directly back into the Rio Grande.
