Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch is an all-inclusive historic guest ranch on 870 acres in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area near Stanley, Idaho, in Custer County. Built in 1930 as the Idaho Rocky Mountain Club, the lodge and cabins are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A natural hot spring on the banks of the Salmon River is gravity-fed through a pipe crossing the river to a 20-by-40-foot pool maintained at 99 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit by regulating the flow of spring water. The 8,000-square-foot lodge was modeled after the Old Faithful Lodge at Yellowstone and originally had its own hydroelectric plant. Fourteen duplex cabins with rock fireplaces, a honeymoon cabin, a family cabin, and four lodge rooms accommodate a maximum of 50 guests. There are no phones, televisions, or radios in any accommodation. All meals are included, prepared by the ranch chef. Activities include hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, and rock climbing in the surrounding Sawtooth and White Cloud Mountain ranges.
The pool is pressure-washed weekly and features a cold shower for contrast soaking.
