About Sanatoria Klimkovice
Sanatoria Klimkovice, Czechia is a modern spa and neurorehabilitation complex at Hylov 24 in Klimkovice, in the Moravian-Silesian Region, 10 kilometres west of Ostrava at 370 metres above sea level. Construction began in 1991 and the first spa season opened in 1994, making it one of the newer spa resorts in the Czech Republic. The architecturally distinctive complex is surrounded by landscaped gardens in woodland at the foot of the Nizky Jeseník Mountains, with views of the Beskydy Mountains.
The natural healing resource is a highly concentrated iodine-bromine brine called solanka, drawn from four wells 400 to 500 metres deep and matured in reservoirs before being warmed to 36 degrees Celsius. Its iodine concentration exceeds standard seawater by approximately 900 times. Two sanatoria (A and B) are interconnected by an underground corridor with all services under one roof. Sanatorium B, with its playful architectural design, is primarily for children; it includes a dining hall, special school, nursery, games room, theatre hall, and rehabilitation pool. The complex specialises in musculoskeletal diseases, neurological diseases (cerebral palsy, brain injuries, stroke, MS), gynaecological diseases, and circulatory and metabolic disorders, with up to 40 treatment sessions per week.

Safety & Etiquette
Sanatoria Klimkovice Safety Tips
Sanatoria Klimkovice is generally safe as a fully supervised spa and rehabilitation complex with qualified medical staff, but the iodine-bromine brine baths and neurorehabilitation procedures each carry specific safety considerations worth noting before arrival.
Iodine-bromine brine (solanka) at 36 degrees Celsius is contraindicated in pregnancy, active infections, acute inflammatory conditions, hyperthyroidism, and certain cardiovascular conditions. All treatment programmes begin with a medical assessment; inform the medical team of all diagnoses and medications before the first session. Single trial baths may be available for wellness visitors without prescription; confirm the current policy with the sanatorium before booking.
Neurorehabilitation procedures, including those using the Redcord suspension system and robotic rehabilitation devices, are conducted under direct supervision of trained physiotherapists. Follow all guidance from the physiotherapy team regarding session intensity and rest periods. Parents of children in Sanatorium B should attend treatment sessions as requested and keep the medical team informed of any changes throughout the stay. The complex is entirely barrier-free; staff assistance is available for transfers to and from pools and treatment rooms. The outdoor sports facilities and Forest Park are seasonal; confirm availability before planning outdoor activities. In winter, paths in the forested area may be icy; follow the posted safety guidance for outdoor areas.
