Florida has 21 warm springs, none technically "hot" under the 90°F threshold, but the state hosts more first-magnitude warm-water springs (discharging over 100 cubic feet per second) than any other US state, and they hold a constant 72°F year-round. Florida is the only US state where the primary soaking experience is a cold-plunge-adjacent warm-spring swim, produced not by geothermal heat but by the massive Floridan aquifer surfacing through limestone karst. Spring clusters lie in North Central Florida along the Suwannee, Ichetucknee, and Wakulla river systems: Ichetucknee, Ginnie, Silver Glen, Salt Springs, Warm Mineral Springs, Weeki Wachee, and Wakulla are the flagship sites. Warm Mineral Springs in North Port is the state's warmest (~85°F) and the only one with mineral-spa character. Water temperature is remarkably constant at 68-85°F because it emerges from a deep, thermally buffered aquifer, not from volcanic activity. Most spring parks are Florida State Park or county-managed, so admission fees are modest. Access is drive-up with paved parking. Best season is year-round - springs are cooler than the summer air and warmer than winter air, making them all-season swimming. Gateway airports are Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee.
